ITINERARY

Day 1:                            
Arrival + City Tour
Arrival in Dresden and hotel check-in. Afterwards you will meet your tour guide for a city tour in so-called “Florence on the Elbe”, where you can see the world-famous Frauenkirche church, the symbol of Dresden, which is regarded as Germany`s most important protestant building in Baroque style; the Zwinger, a most perfect example of late Baroque architecture in Germany; the Semper Opera House, one of the most beautiful opera buildings in the world; the Royal Palace, which used to be the centre of power of Saxon sovereigns; the richly decorated cathedral; the Procession of Princes, a mural painting on tiles from Meissen porcelain of over 100m length; the Brühl Terrace, a former rampart also known as “the balcony of Europe” and much more. The evening is at your free disposal.

Day 2:
Excursion to Leipzig (approx. 240km)
After breakfast, you will leave Dresden for an excursion to Leipzig. Your local guide is awaiting you in the oldest city of fairs: visit the opera house, with  its 300-year history; the Bach archives, dedicated to the detailed study of the life of composer Johann Sebastian Bach; the old town hall, one of the oldest and most beautiful Renaissance town halls in Germany; the monument of the battle of nations, a landmark of Leipzig which commemorates the first big battle of nations in human history in 1813, as well as the church of St. Nikolai, the most established church of the town and starting point for the famous Monday demonstrations in autumn 1989, which lead to the peaceful revolution on the German Democratic Republic. In the afternoon return to Dresden.

Day 3:                            
Departure
After a rich breakfast, you will return home with numerous memories of this beautiful region.
