For some people, the best time of the year has come when in most German towns Christmas markets open their gates and display their enticing treats. Besides the warming mulled wine or the traditional “Feuerzangenbowle”, the Christmas market visitor is attracted by gingerbread, roasted chestnuts, candied apples and roasted almonds.

Almost every German town has its own Christmas market, so we can merely give a choice of the best-known markets.
